Coolest Birthday Cake

Are you also a soccer mom? Or maybe a sports mom in general? I myself have never been as crazy as the vegetable mom in the video. But if I will have a chance, I will give my outmost support to my kids whether it maybe into sports, school or any other activity that he/she is involved. It is my way of showing my kids that I love them and they have my support so that they will be encourage to give 100% of their performance. Just like the girl playing as the goalie, she gives all her best after hearing her mother's cheers.

House Warming

Last friday we went to a House Warming, one of my husband officemate. We had some pizza, chips and cake as it was his birthday too. We watch the blue ray edition of spiderman 2 and we had lots of fun chit-chating. Marielle also had a lot of fun as she plays with her dad officemates. And we went home around 11 pm.

A real love of learning

Our child's education begins on their first day at school but they naturally been learning about the world around them from the moment they was born. So, how can we keep this up? Well, in my point of view as a stay-at-home mum, there are still lots of things that I can do to make sure that my child's school life is happy and productive. For example reading books together and regular story times are one of the most important factors in determining a child's academic to increase their comprehension and vocabulary. That is a part of our everyday life and going to the library has been part of our weekly routine ever since Marielle starts at school. My husband and I read a lot- and now Marielle loves books too.

Thomas the Tank Engine stop-over in Singapore

During the September school break we gave Marielle a treat. We occupied the saturday (sept.6) family time for her to see THOMAS & FRIENDS Live! On Stage @ Singapore Expo and get to know more about Thomas and the other trains. Featuring a cast of 10 on stage, including Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway, Percy, everyone’s favourite little green engine, high flying Harold the Helicopter and Diesel, who is always ready to stir up trouble!

Marielle is so excited and thrilled that day she even want us to buy her a Thomas toy light before we entered the hall. Though me and her dad a bit little bored from the start of the show. But after 20 minutes of break we really do appreciate the whole thing because there are some surprises. There's always a song or a dance that Marielle get to sing along as well.

The show's consist of wonderful props, beautiful costumes and scenery, accompanied by great singing, choreographed dancing and special effects – all the elements that make for good theatre.

The biggest event in Singapore this year is undoubtedly the F1 Singapore Grand Prix. With still 15 more days to flag off.

The V8-powered F1 cars will simultaneously roar at full throttle as the Sunday 'night' race commences at 8:00pm (Singaporean time) on the 28th of September. The 2008 Singaporean F1 Grand Prix will be the first in history to be staged at night.

The full schedule for the three day F1 Grand Prix is as follows:

Friday September 26th
1st Practice: 4:00pm - 5:30pm
2nd Practice: 8:00pm - 9:30pm

Saturday September 27th
Final Practice: 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Qualifying: 8:00pm

Sunday September 26th
Race: 8:00pm

Mom Confessions

Unsurprisingly, August passed by in a flash. Hopefully everyone has done their shopping, as well as taken advantage of the great Singapore Sale deals that we had. Despite the end of the school holidays, August is not a month to let your credit cards/wallet take a break.

Anyway here's my confessions :) "I adore Marielle, and I've never regretted being a stay-at-home mum, even though there have been many times when it has been tough. But I am lucky my husband Paulo is always there to help me out when I'm tired or need a break."

Google Chrome

Recently, my hubby installed a new web browser on our PC. Called Chrome, it is the web browser launch by Google. This open-source browser is still under development and the one we have is still a beta version. But still, we found the interface quite slick as it took quite a minimalist approach.

The browser itself has only have a two line interface on top and the rest is the website itself. From time to time a single line interface appears below to show the status of the web loading or your downloads but most of the time, you won't be seeing anything else but your favorite website. The address bar also acts as a search so if you type any word on it, it will automatically search for it.

Another thing we liked is that when you open a new tab, it will show you a screen shots (which is also a link) to the sites you normally accessed the most. Not a technological breakthrough but quite a convenience for us, and honestly, it is quite cool to look at.

Speed wise, we cannot say that it is faster nor slower compared to the Mozilla Firefox that we are currently using. It is actually quite comparable to Firefox loading speed. I guess since it is still on beta version, they still have to do some tweaking in order to show Chrome's full potential.

Another thing we encountered is we cannot load properly some website that needs specific plugins like Java. I guess they haven't release a version yet for Chrome. Hopefully when the full version is released, all these things will be ironed out.

All in all, we are definetely seeing a bright and shiny future for the Google Chrome once it reach its full potential. Can't wait for the full version of it. For now, we are still hybridly using Chrome and Firefox.

She wants to be a Princess

Yes, indeed! My daughter Marielle really love the Disney Princesses. She was thrilled when she saw some princess photos, costumes and especially cd or dvd movies about Disney Princess because she enjoy the stories most. Her Daddy and I will be her King and Queen at home. Her favourite Disney Princess is Aurora from "Sleeping Beauty" because she is gracious and lovely like her. She tried to draw some princesses, although it was difficult but at least she tried her best! It was fun at home to see here transformed into a princess whenever she wear her princess outfit. She learnt many things from the movie she watch about dressing up, how to portray as a princess and especially she enjoyed the sing and dance session. She even ask her Dad to dance with her. She was a little funny but she made us laugh and that helped us relax.

School is back!

Yes, 1 week of school holidays are now over and my daughter Marielle is happy that she'll back to school today. I thought my daughter will be happier if she's in the house, no classes but I was wrong. A couple of days at home she always make kulet and keep on saying that she want to go back to school. Well, I guess it's more like that she enjoyed most of the day outside the house especially in the school with her classmates and teachers. Palibhasa wala kasing makalaro dito sa bahay kya gusto lagi nasa labas hehe

About The Art

Daisy celebrates Singapore's significance in international air and sea travel. This is symbolised by the Daisy's propeller which is a central element of both air and sea travel. Its visual resemblance to a flower in bloom serves to highlight the tropical richness of Singapore's flora.

Daisy is an interactive installation marrying a fibreglass ship propeller and a high-precision industrial robotic arm. Light-sensors mounted along its 13 meter height sense the presence of onlookers and enable Daisy to move interactively in accordance to the movements of the onlookers.

It's "BER" Month!

It's been quite a long day since I only have a little time doing my online stuff... well, "ber" months are here: September, October, November, December... December!!!... its like a term for a countdown to CHRISTMAS!!! But anyway, you guys want something for Christmas? I do! What do I want? Hmmm... I feel like I want to go out of town, or country something like that. What do you think? Isn't a great idea?
