Movie again!
Anyway, this prompt us to watch the movie again. Good thing we have a copy in our "Archives". Actually, i find it still nice for a movie we already watched. We are really suckers for those romantic comedy films and this is one of our favorite. I don't mind if my husband slept halfway through the movie, guess he was just really sleepy.
If you haven't watch it yet, give it a chance. Pick up a copy when you return to your favorite video shop. I'm sure you guys will definitely like it. :)

TGIF: Movie Time
The movie that i'm eager to watch - Something's Gotta Give, is actually a 2003 movie so it's kinda old *wink*
Last night while waiting for my dear husband to arrive home after watching "Don't Mess with the Zohan" with his office buddies, Marielle and I finally watched this movie. I really like the movie, I find it very wonderful. This movie is funny, cute and romantic.
I like Diane Keaton who played as Erica, she gave her all in the movie and Erica's story is fascinating. Jack Nicholson (as Harry) is on his usual "swaggering" self in this movie. He gives us his normal antics throughout the movie. His "heart-attack" moment are priceless. You can't help but love him! As Dr. Mercer, Keanu Reeves is great in this movie. He is sincere, sweet, intelligent and magical that falls in love with Erica. Amanda Peet (as Marin, Erica's daughter) is over the top as in most of her roles.
Overall this movie was excellent!
Take a look a couple of amusing set-pieces from the movie. It is something wonderful and homey, but chilling. I love it!

REFLECTION
He has been So good. The greatness of God in my life, when it rains, it pours and it's true when God showered me with his ultimate blessings, it really poured. He believed in me. Though I'm far from being a perfect daughter to Him, he stayed with me.
I couldn't imagine my life now without him. I mean he's just - he's a joy!. I can fully testify that when you give everything to him, you don't have to worry. It's quite surprising that he called me out of nowhere. I was once a hard-headed child, a snob, but He called me. And he gave me the love that I didn't even asked. God is so good. I can't imagine how I was able to live my life in the past knowing that I didn't know him that much. All I know is that He is the one should be praised and nothing else follows. What I have now is more than just a religion, it's a Father-daughter relationship.
I do not know, but whenever I think of how great our God is, i just start to cry.
In John 15:18 it says : " If the world hates you now, remember that it hated me first" The verse really strucked me. Sometimes we think everything is so hard or lots of burdens or even worse, sometimes we think that the whole world's mad at us. Sometimes because of all these we losing faith in God. Which in return we hated God. There were also the times that we think He do not understand how we feel. But the truth is He listens and He knows how you feel. So whenever we feel that the whole world hates us, keep in mind that He was hated first and he overcome because He remained faithful.
GOD IS LOVE
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Another busy day...
This morning I woke up a bit late than usual. Just needed more sleep to have enough strenght to last the whole day. I prepared the Kaldereta first and after around lunch cooked the Kare-kare. After resting for a bit, we went to Lau Pa Sat to pickup the Pansit Palabok we ordered from Jolly-V food stall. It was a bit heavy, i think it was good for 15 persons or more.
I met up with my hubby at Hougang MRT for him to carry the heavy load. He was already with 3 of his officemates. One of them hold the Palabok tray while we bought some drinks from the supermarket.
When we arrived home, I immediately prepared and put the foods on the table so that the guess can eat already. Not a lot of people attend, only 5 of his officemates were able to come. But it was still very fun, we took turns playing racing, tennis, bowling and other party games on my hubby's Nintendo Wii console. At most, 4 people can play together that's why it was very fun.
It was very exhausting doing all those stuffs, it was well worth the effort. After all it was for my hubby's birthday and I also enjoyed everything that I did, how tiring as it may seem. :)

Tried and Tested
PRESERVATIVE-FREE

It is where great skin begins. Yup, I agree.
Way back when I was not married yet, I used products from FANCL. Because time passes by and I'm not getting any younger, I tried to used other brands for a change or maybe something that can give me much glower skin hehe. Sorry, I'm kinda vain when it comes to skin care because mine is very sensitive and so easy to irritate. I'm not the kind who stick to just one product when it comes to skin care. I love the products I use but eventually will still look for something else. I'm also not into more on the ingredients. I tried a lot but the truth is, whatever brands I used for my skin, I still switch back into these two products. Bare is how nature intended skin to be. This comes as no surprise, when I realized skin is blessed with natural abilities to maintain and restore its healthy, radiant glow.
FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil and FANCL Facial Washing Powder are formulated to clear away dirt and sebum with nano-technology and Perfect Cleansing Sensor effect respectively. Yet leaving every bit of moisture intact. Great skin starts at the bare basics of cleansing.
Bare is Best.
Now take it all off and let your skin work its natural wonders. I'd switch back to that once I'm done with my current skin care supply.

MAUCAP is Going Green
(Note: Pls. use your blog name/initial as a title of your entry in Going Green. MAUCAP stand for my blog name as MommyAllehs Up-Close And Personal)
Liza of A Simple Life tagged me on this. Thank you for thinking of me on this interesting meme.
here goes…
“Do you know that the world population is expanding at a mind-boggling rate? Yes, it is. It is estimated that the population will go up to 9 billions by 2050. That’s mean if the world’s natural resources were evenly distributed, our children or/ and grandchildren will only have 25% of the resources per capita that people in 1950 had.
If we intend to leave our children and grandchildren with the same standard of living we have enjoyed, we must preserve the foundation of that standard of living. We save for college educations, orthodontia, and weddings, but what about saving clean air, water, fuel sources and soil for future generations?”
-source taken from http://www.gogreeninitiative.org/content/WhyGoGreen/
We do not need be a soldier, aggressively marching down the battle field, to help our Mother Nature. Just be yourself and go green in your daily activities. Here are 10 ways how we can go green:
1. Crank the knob
According to the National Environment Agency in Singapore, air-conditioned buildings need only to set their thermostat between 23°C and 25°C. Anything lower is a waste as you simply won’t feel a difference in temperature. For every degree you adjust, you spare the air 500 pounds of carbon dioxide.
2. Sweat the small stuff
According to http://ecofabulous.blogs.com, if every worker used one less staple, we’d save up to 330,000 tons of steel a day. That’s some heavy metal! Switch to a staple-less stapler, available at stationery shops, which folds paper to bind it.
3. Clean green
Household cleaning products give off chemical emissions that aren’t only harmful to the planet, but to you too. Swap yours for the eco-friendly and completely non-toxic Shaklee Get Clean products.
4. Age your driving style
Don’t speed: going 90km/h instead of 110km/h slashes fuel consumption by up to 25 per cent. If your car is fitted with a cruise control option, use it when you’re driving on teh highway to maintain a steady speed and save on fuel.
5. Eat closer to home
Transporting produce across oceans or by air is amajor contributor to pollution. The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation reported in 2006 that 18 per cen of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions were due to the international meat industry. Choose locally farmed produce and the demand for imported stuff will fall, along with CO2 levels.
6. Stash your trash
Recycle. Yes, it’s an obvious one and you would think that after hearing it so many times, we’d be non-stop recycling machines by now, but there are still so may of us who aren’t doing it! We chuck 19,000 tons of waste everyday, enough to fill 36 Petronas Twin Towers in a year! About 95 per cent of the waste ends up in landfills, which we’re quickly running out of, and who knows how much of it could have been recycled?
7. Be a cone head
The next time you feel like eating ice-cream, ask for a cone, not cup. That way, you can eat the whole ‘packaging’ and there’s no paper cup or plastic spoon to toss out.
8. Say no to the machine
Don’t ask for ATM receipts. If every one in the USA refused theirs, it would save a roll of paper more than two billion feet long, or enough to circle the equator 15 times. Malaysians would create a roll more than 330 million feet long, going round the equator two and a half times.
9. Think natural and cool
Using cold water to do the laundry saves 50 per cent more energy than using hot water. To dry, hang them out in the sun - the heat is a natural disinfectant - and you’ll again be saving energy, as an automatic dryer uses an average of six per cent of the household electricity.
10. Make sure your fashion is green.
We’re not going to say stop dry cleaning your clothes, because that’s just an impossible request. The next time you do, however, tell the cleaners to skip the plastic. Also, find a greener cleaner - Pressto dry cleaners use biodegradeable stain removers and detergents, and theor machines are eco-friendly too, designed by an in-house team of engineers and technicians. There are outlets in Sri Hartamas (opposite Cat’s Whiskers boutique) and Bangsar (Jalan Maarof).
-taken from FEMALE magazine JUNE issue.
Isn’t it easy? If each of us play a small role in helping our Mother Nature, I am sure our children or/ and grandchildren will be able to enjoy the same or similar standard of living we had today. So, why not we start today, this very moment! Let’s Go Green, shall we?

Genting, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
For Marielle's 3rd Birthday, we decided to have a short holiday to Malaysia. We never been to Malaysia before so we are excited. We bought a 3 days / 2 nights package to Genting then Kuala Lumpur.
Up, up and...up
So May 24 came and we are on the way to Genting. Our transportation is a double-decker bus, each of us having a very wide and comfortable seats with massage functions and our own tv for entertainment. We really glad we upgraded our seats from coach to premium class because it turned out to be a VERY long trip: it took us around 7 hours including to stop over to reach Genting. We departed around 7:30AM and reached the place at 2:00PM. The trip was nice but by the middle of the day, we got bored since there is nothing to see but mountains, hills and plains. Guess we are not used to this kind of sceneries just like before. Anyway, we were able to checked in to First World Hotel at around 3:00PM after queuing for almost an hour.
The room we got was just ok. We don't actually expect too much from the hotel: eventhough it has the largest number of hotel rooms in the world, but the room size were quite small. but we have no complains, we just want to have a place to rest and sleep. Well, that's what we did once we got into the room, we slept for bit then woke up around 4:00PM.
It was drizzling by the time we left our room so we decided we will just go to the Indoor Theme Park. We grabbed a bite 1st at KFC of all places hahaha but it was worth it. We never tasted a chicken as delicious as the one we had compared in Singapore. Or maybe we are just hungry? hehe :)
Genting is very similar to Baguio in the Philippines, i guess it's much higher and the temperature is colder. It has several hotels, a couple of theme parks and several casinos to lose your money. We weren't able to enter any of them since children are not allowed. It's okay since we do not have enough money to gamble in the 1st place hehe.
We spend the the whole evening trying the rides inside the Indoor Park. Almost all the rides here are catered for young kids so Marielle was having lots of fun. Me and my husband kind of feel like kids again. My family shared a romantic ride together on a Gondola, felt like we are on top of the world riding the Ferris Wheel. Marielle and I rode the Carousel while daddy took the pictures. We also went to Snow World to experience the so-called Winter Wonderland. By midnight, we almost been to all the rides except for those where Marielle is too young to try. We all fell asleep once we settled in our beds around after midnight.
We woke up early the next day to be able to do more exploring since we will be going down to Kuala Lumpur by lunch time. We had our quick breakfast in the First World Cafe. Our tour package didn't include breakfast but for some reason, we weren't charged for that. The receptionist even told us that it was free. Talk about luck hehe After getting full, we went straight to the Genting Skyway, which is a cable car ride. It is currently the world's fastest and South East Asia's longest cable car system. The 3.38 kilometres journey up (or down) the mountain peak takes only 11 minutes. Marielle was so excited to ride the cable car, she wants to ride one after experiencing the Sentosa Cable Car last year.
Once we got back to the mountain top, we took a quick train ride around the theme park to check what we have missed. The truth is our time in Genting is not enough to visit everything that is needed to be seen. We haven't been able to the Outdoor Theme Park yet. Next time we go here, we'll make sure we stay here longer...maybe 3 days 2 night? :)
Back to the city
Around lunch time we boarded the bus going back to KL. The transpo was not as nice as we had going up to Genting. It was actually a bus from a different company. I guess they have a common agreement to collect all persons who will be going back and put in one bus. We came a bit late so we had our seats on the 1st floor of the double-decker bus.
I'm not sure but i think the travel down to KL was faster. Maybe because of the downward force? I dunno hehe Anyway, we were asleep most of the time, taking some rest after the morning's activity. It took around 2 hours to reach our destination: Swiss Garden Hotel. Part of the booking was a night-stay at one of their deluxe room with free breakfast.
This time the room we had was very, very nice...at least to our standards. My hubby mentioned that it looks similar to the room he had when he went to Shanghai. The room has 2 beds, a nice window view, LCD TV and a big bathtub. After bringing down our bags, again we took a little nap to recharge for a bit. Around 4pm, we went out to do some site seeing.
Our 1st stop is the Berjaya Times Square, a shopping mall near our hotel. It was about 5-10 mins walk from the hotel. The mall was just ok, it has signatured shops on the ground floor but almost all the shops on the upper levels are unknown brands. At least it has an indoor theme park and an iMAX cinema. We had our lunch in one of the restaurants near the cinemas. I forgot the name of the place but the food we ordered was quite nice and the prices are reasonably cheap. After that, we just stroll around the mall looking for some sale and bargains. I was able to buy a nice blouse in the MNG by Mango boutique for only 35 SGD if you convert it. We actually didn't do anything else that night but to go to different malls. We saved the Petronas and the KL tower for tomorrow.
We had a hard time getting up the next day as our bodies ache a bit from the endless walking last night and the bed as very, very comfortable. After several efforts, we found ourselves having our breakfast in the hotel's restaurant. We took a quick fix as we are trying to squeeze in some activities before going back to Singapore after lunch. We hailed one of the cabs in front of the hotel and told the friendly driver we want to go to the Petronas. We learned that unfortunately, it was actually closed during Monday. It's a good thing that he mentioned that so we went to KL Tower instead. We arrived there just in time for its opening. After one long elevator ride, we are on top of the tower. The sunny weather gave us a magnificent view of Kuala Lumpur and its skylines.
After admiring the nice sceneries, we went down, hailed another cab and go to the Petronas Tower. We'd like to take a closer look at it eventhough we cannot go up since it was close. We paid around 10ringgit to go there. The driver dropped us in front of the Suria Mall which is located at the base of the twin towers. Here you can find all the internationals brands that you can think of. We strolled for a bit before going out to the park besides the mall.
We took some pictures with the tower as our background. It was a bit difficult to take since we need to place the camera on the floor to be able to take a good picture. The very hot weather also didn't help. We found the park quite similar to the gardens found in Singapore. One unique thing it have are the metal sculptures which resembles of a whale and 3 dolphins coming out of the water. Too bad the place was under renovation so we couldn't take a closer look. The heat made us very thirsty, hungry and tired. It was also near lunch so we decided to go back to the hotel.
What a nice feeling to arrived back at our nice hotel room. We ordered room services for our lunch while packing our stuffs for the travel back to SG. After checking out, we left our luggage in the hotel lobby and quickly made a run to Chinatown/Petaling Street. It turned out be a place that looks like you are in Baclaran or Divisoria in the Philippines. Most of the stalls are selling faked signature clothings, bags, shoes, accessories...you name it. We just have one quick stroll before decided to go back to the hotel to be picked up by travel agency. Along the way back, we found a Starbucks outlet and fortunately, there was a coffee mug/container which have a Kuala Lumpur logo on it so we bought one as part of our collection.
The driver who picked us up was kind enough to show us a nice chocolate candy shop along the way to the bus terminal. The shop's name is Berryl's Chocolate and they offer a lot of chocolate varieties. We bought a couple of bag of Tiramisu chocolate covered almonds, a box of Chilli Chocolate and bag of White Chocolate with a hint of Sesame flavor. Once we arrived at the terminal we left our luggage in the First Class/Premium Class lounge and went to have our well deserved foot massage. It was actually very cheap, we paid 24 ringgit for a 30 min foot massage which is around 10 sing dollar. The massage was very, very nice as it removed all the pain and tension on our feet and legs.
Around 3:30PM we boarded the double-deck bus going back to SG. As the bus was going out of the terminal, it began to rain. Good thing we are already settled in as we don't want to be stuck in KL together with a thunderstorm. And after 5 hours, 2 stop over, a free dinner on board and 2 immigration checks, we arrived at SG at approximately 9:00PM. Nice to be back home.
Honestly, 3 days and 2 nights were not enough to enjoy Genting and KL to it's fullest. There are a lot of places and things we haven't seen, been to or done which is very unfortunate. Next time we'll make sure we have enough time so we don't need to hurry with our activities. Maybe 3 days 3 nights in Genting and another 3 days and 2 nights in KL? We have until next year to save hehe :)
