Having Fun with Wall-E

It was our first time at Cathay Grand Cinema, the biggest Cathay Theater in Singapore. I was really impressed when we first entered; the room is enormous, the seats are wide and very comfortable, of course the screen is huge and the THX surround sounds are great. It's a good thing that the movie we watched is the latest film from Pixar, Wall-E.

I find the film started a bit slow but picked-up its pace later on. Overall, we truly enjoyed watching this heart warming flick. Eventhough the main characters don't really talked, Pixar has managed to convey the characters' feelings through their actions and expressions. It is a must-watch for any Pixar fans as well as any animation watcher.

Seafood + Rice = Winning Dish

My family loves eating with rice. We feel like something is missing or the meal is incomplete without having rice with it. I guess it is part of our culture where rice is always a staple on the table during every meal. And you can do a lot of variations on how to cook or prepare dishes with rice. You can make a paella, a Spanish dish usually garnished with vegetables and meat or seafood, or garlic fried rice, which is usually served during breakfast, or even baked rice meals where you can cover the rice with a dish then baked it usually with cheese on top. Yummy!

Recently, we have stumbled at this particular website featuring cooking competition entitled the Great American Seafood Cook Off. Here 15 prestigious chef from all over US battled it out to be crowned as the King of American Seafood with seafood as their main ingredients of course. It also features the top 5 dishes that were created during the said cook off. Among the five of them, our favorite dish was the creation of Chef John Currence who was hailed from Mississippi. The dish name is Mississippi Redfish Courtboullion with Seafood Dirty Rice. One of obvious reasons for our choice is that rice is one of the ingredients for this menu. Another thing is the chef used a lot of ingredients specially fresh seafoods but only in small portions so that the the taste won't be overwhelming. And as I read through the article, I found out that this is also the winning dish of the event. I guess we have the same palate as the judges hehehe

I guess one of the reasons why that recipe won is because of it features Mississippi's very own Redfish. Since the chef also came from the same place, he brought a distinctive taste that can only be found locally. It's uniqueness became it's major advantage over the other opponents and it probably helped by leaving an impression to the judges. That is why one should try to utilize their own local products specifically on seafoods since it's easier to buy, always available and most importantly, you canbuy more for a cheaper price since you get it directly from the sources.

Two weeks ago my husband bought me a Crocs shoe charms to my small electronic devices with a croc o-dial! These clever little cell phone holder shaped just like a croc shoes, complete with the holes and heel strap, to keep the phone safe, and can even be accessorised with 'Jibbitz' charms. They are the perfect fit for most cell phones, mobile phone, mp3 players, and small cameras. There's also a panel at the back which you can use to store your credit cards or any cards and important documents. For me just like the shoes, the Croc phone case is useful, cute and I know I look stupid in this, but I'm comfy!

Of course my daughter Marielle because her daddy will be off early today from the office yehey!! My hubby loves listening to music. He said that he has no particular genre he likes, it can be alternative, slow rock, rnb, classical and even heavy rock. What he focuses on is the lyrics of the song and what meaning it portrays. He already dedicated a lot of songs to me. The 1st song he dedicated to me was If You're Not The One by Daniel Bedingfield. I was very touched by the song and he even cried when he sang it to me.

And as we just had celebrated our 1st year wedding anniversary, he have another song dedicated for me. The song is entitled Your Universe and it was written and performed by a Filipino artist named Rico Blanco. He used to be the main vocalist and composer of the Filipino band Rivermaya.

Me and my hubby are suckers for romantic/comedy movies. Films like Music and Lyrics, Something's Gotta Give, You've Got Mail just to name a few. What normally catches our attentions are the lines gave out by the actors and actresses that are quite touching. One of our most favorite lines came from the movie Jerry Maquire which was starred by Tom Cruise and René Zellweger. There was this part that Jerry (Cruise) tells Dorothy (Zellweger) how much he loves her by saying to her "You complete me". That was one of most memorable scene that we have seen. It was very romantic.

Move ahead with Cisco

Internet has become an integrated part of our lives. In the modern world where one can easily connect with millions in a few seconds, one can say that though the world seems smaller now, bigger challenges awaits us, specially if you are into Information Technology. In the recent trend, IT related jobs are becoming more and more in demand so people are more likely to align themselves in the ever growing population of the industry. More people means more competitions. And in order to compete and eventually win, one must be always updated in the latest technologies and knowledge. It has actually become one of the requirements just to enter the IT industry.

One such requirements is the Cisco Career Certifications. These are IT professional certifications for Cisco products that mainly focuses on computer networking. Having this certification opens up a whole wide opportunities to someone who is qualified. It can be considered as one of the "must-have" for anyone working in the IT industries.

One example is my case. I have degree in Computer Science but I never actually made use of it in my actual job since it was not in the IT field. Right now since I'm only a housewife, I plan to find a job which is suitable to my educational background. I'm considering taking a Cisco training for me to be familiarized with the current technologies. Then later, take the test and hopefully get my Cisco Certification. That will definitely boost my chance on getting the right job for me.

Having some wrist pains?

A word of caution to those working very long hours in the office. If you are working most of the time in front of your PC or laptops, you are one those who are at high risk of having this condition. It is called carpal tunnel syndrome. For those who are not aware, carpal tunnel syndrome is a medical condition where a nerve called the median is being compress at your wrist that will lead to pain and muscle weakness at your forearm and hand. Though there are really no known causes of it, one common factor in developing this conditions are your hand use activities. Prolonged and repetitive activities including the improper positioning of your hands when you use the keyboard is one of the most common factors. Stress can also be a factor to this and another factor is physical trauma like having bone fractures and dislocation to name a few.

Currently, there are a lot of so called 'cures' to this syndrome.Some are as simple as just taking medications, others need to undergo physical rehabilitation and for more serious cases, surgery is needed. For those who are on early stages of the syndrome, one can have the carpal tunnel relief by using the IMAK Smartgloves. Getting fit while having fun

Last weekend, my husband and I decided to buy Wii Fit, a fitness game for the Nintendo Wii console. Inside the box include the Wii Fit game and the Wii Balance Board. So far we use it everyday (actually during night) and with it, the whole family really enjoyed doing exercises and workout. Actually, today I sweated it out doing the hula hoop activity hehe. It was really fun. Now, I can say that our room turned into a fitness center for the whole family with Wii Fit.

I do remember when I was still working, my colleagues always told me that I have this certain look. They call it my "masungit/suplada" look. Honestly I do not do this intentionally just to fend off people. I guess this is just the default face that I have and I guess I want to make it clear that I am not really a snobbish person...well maybe not most of the time hehe I sometimes do make this face whenever I am with someone that is either I do not like or quite rude but I'm really quite a nice person...from within hehe

I think instead of turning away people, my look actually attract more people. They said that being "masungit" makes them feel challenge to get to know more about a person and some even find it quite attractive. So sometimes it is quite hard to get the expected reaction that i want since sometimes the opposite thing happens.

And for some, they also use this look to flirt with someone they find quite attractive. They would like to emanate this "mysterious" appeal as to why they are being snobbish. But not all people are successful in the art of flirting. Not that i'm saying I am good at it. What I mean is that you need to have some practice or experience in order to do a successful flirt. Well, it is a good thing that now you can try out your skills without the risk physically being rejected. I don't want to miss a thing

I reminded myself that time flies so fast and I don't want to miss anything in Marielle's life while she's still this young. This comes only once and if I missed the moment, I've missed it forever. She won't be a baby forever. I want to cherish every minute while she is my little baby and I can hug her and kiss her as much as I want to and she'll just smile to say she loves it.

I am a stay at home mom because of this, since I want to be always there for Marielle and see her grow up in front of my own eyes. I want to take care of her personally. I don't want to miss it. I still need to limit my time when I can do my blogging activities. But at the moment, the time that I used to spend on blogging is now exclusively my Marielle time.

Last sunday afternoon we went to lau pa sat festival market because I'm craving for pancit palabok. After to satisfy my hungry craving I ordered Satay, one of my all-time favorite things to eat on a stick! A perennial favourite in Singapore because of its bite-sized portions. Satay consists of pieces of well-marinated meat skewered on a stick and barbecued over charcoal. Served with a rich peanut sauce with sliced cucumbers and onions on the side. Choose from chicken, beef or mutton.

My answer:

::::Honestly, Maintaining the home can be quite exhausting. I am not complaining or even hate doing the household chores, actually I can live without helper. Because the household chores are not only my job and responsibility. Instead, I ask for my spouse to do his share. Chores around the house should be shared responsibilities. Right mommies!? :)

As a couple we set priorities what is truly important. Like me, I want everything in place and I don't like messy things. So, we let one another know what the things that need to be done, etc. And to keep our time inside the home limited but by still doing all the chores we make a list for each one of us. Time management to organize our home is important. :)
